Canada: Canadian jewellery brand Hillberg & Berk
has expanded its retail footprint with the opening of a new store at
Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley, marking its 17th location nationwide.
The move reflects the brand’s continued expansion across Canada while
reinforcing its positioning as a community-focused and experience-driven
jewellery retailer.
Founded by Rachel Mielke, Hillberg & Berk has built its
brand identity around accessibility, versatility, and social engagement. The
decision to expand into Langley was positioned not only as a retail opportunity
but also as a strategic move to establish stronger local connections within a
growing consumer market. According to the company, store expansion decisions
are increasingly influenced by community relevance and long-term engagement
potential rather than location scale alone.
As part of the launch, the company integrated a community
initiative by dedicating five per cent of its first month’s sales to the Ishtar
Women’s Resource Society. The contribution, which raised over CAD 2,000, will
support programs related to counselling, transitional housing, and educational
assistance for individuals impacted by domestic violence. The initiative
reflects a growing trend within the jewellery sector where retail expansion is
increasingly being linked with social responsibility and community-based
engagement.
The new Langley location has been designed to create a more
approachable and experience-led retail environment. Moving away from
traditional jewellery store formats that often emphasise exclusivity and
formality, the store features a brighter and more open layout intended to
encourage customer interaction and ease of browsing. The brand’s collections
are positioned around versatility, allowing customers to transition jewellery
across everyday wear and occasion styling. This aligns with broader market trends
where consumers are increasingly seeking adaptable jewellery pieces that
combine wearability with emotional and aesthetic value.
Hillberg & Berk’s growing visibility has also been
strengthened through its association with Team Canada, where the company serves
as the Official Jewellery Partner. The collaboration has extended the brand’s
national presence beyond retail through athlete-led visibility during major
sporting events, including the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. This
association connects the brand with themes of identity, achievement, and
representation while strengthening its positioning within the Canadian market.
The timing of the Langley launch also coincides with key
retail periods such as Mother’s Day, an important sales window for the
jewellery industry. The store’s product offering includes gifting-focused
collections and personalised pieces that cater to relationship-driven
purchasing behaviour, an area that continues to remain central to jewellery
retail globally.
The Langley opening represents another step in Hillberg
& Berk’s broader retail growth strategy while reinforcing its focus on
community engagement and accessible luxury positioning. As jewellery retail
continues to evolve globally, the expansion reflects how brands are
increasingly balancing commercial growth with experience, emotional connection,
and local relevance.
