Chennai: Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers (VBJ) has opened a
new store at Anna Salai, Chennai, adjacent to its original store, signifying
its long-standing association with the city and marking a new phase of
expansion.
Spanning 14,000 sq. ft, the new space has been strategically
designed to showcase the brand’s wide jewellery range across different levels.
The ground floor houses gold, precious and jadau designs, while the first floor
is dedicated to diamond, solitaire and platinum collections, offering customers
a more focused space for considered purchases.
Adding to the personalised experience, VBJ has introduced
the second floor as Atelier VBJ, a new format created for private and
immersive consumer interaction. It features dedicated lounges, private viewing
rooms and specialised services, offering a retail engagement experience beyond
the conventional showroom approach.

Speaking on the new space, Amarendran Vummidi, Managing
Partner, VBJ, said the store is aimed at translating the brand’s 125-year-old
legacy into a more personalised consumer experience, while providing a
dedicated zone for showcasing its jewellery collections.
The launch also marks the brand’s forward-looking vision of
expanding across Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Within Chennai, VBJ aims to
strengthen its presence across high-potential catchments such as T. Nagar and
Chromepet. Beyond Chennai, the brand is set to expand into key cities including
Coimbatore and Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, along with Hyderabad in
Telangana.
Apart from its national expansion, the brand is also looking
to grow internationally by scaling its operations in the United States.
Building on its presence in Texas, VBJ is planning expansion into Milpitas,
California, catering to the growing Indian diaspora.
